Why is Rogue Esthetics Offering Korean Skincare?

We’ve all seen viral Korean Skincare hacks in some form or another on the internet (snail mucin anyone?)  Maybe you’ve wondered what the hype is about, or maybe you’re one of the many obsessed. Either way, let me tell you about the Korean skincare that has made an impression at Rogue Esthetics.

First let me put your mind at ease, I have not been influenced! We are not talking about the K-Beauty trends of TikTok or the random clearance items at TJ Maxx. This Korean skincare is  only available through a licensed and trained professional and it is impressive! 

To be honest, I’ve been slow to come around to the hype. In my narrow view I thought it was just something fun and different for the younger crowd. However, the more I’ve learned, studied, and trained with Korean Skincare, the more I’ve come to realize how closely it aligns with my skincare philosophies. And it is absolutely is not just for fun or the younger crowd!  So let me explain what drew me to Professional Korean Skincare.

It’s no secret that Asian cultures are years ahead in the game of aging gracefully. Why? For many reasons, but we’ll start with tradition. Korea and eastern Asia in general are steeped in tradition, using herbs and fermentation processes passed down through generations. Their use of advanced, skin-loving ingredients like Centella Asiatica for soothing, fermented extracts for renewal, and ginseng for anti-aging incorporates thoughtful rituals and traditional ingredients. With years of use, they have  learned what works and what doesn't.

So the goal is preventative care instead of reactive; preventing skin issues instead of trying to repair damage. Sun protection has played a huge role in this philosophy as well.

Practicing with intention also means that each treatment should be customized. Seasonal facials can be fun, but those don’t work across the board. A completely customized facial based on your skin’s current needs is both intentional and far more beneficial!

Competition within the skincare and beauty industry is insane. It seems there is a new skincare brand every time I open my phone. Korean skincare has been a leader in the beauty industry for decades though; most beauty trends start with them and flow to the rest of the world. Due to this high competition billions of dollars are invested to stay ahead of the game - research and development are priority. It has been said their ingredient technology and delivery systems are at least a decade ahead of the rest of the world.

Not only that but the Korean FDA has much higher standards than the US so that means they are more strict about ingredients, sourcing, and formulations -insuring you are getting safe quality ingredients.

Initially I was surprised how much these skincare philosophies aligned with my own. I’ve come to realize Korean Skincare is more than a trend though, it’s been around a very long time. Within my holistic practice I understand that everything is connected - gut, skin, lifestyle, mental health - it's all deeply intertwined, and it all matters.  My goal is to ensure lasting results and to help you achieve healthy skin at its foundation. Intention is what Rogue Esthetics is all about.
